Una linterna perdida,
cubierta por el polvo,
mugrienta, oxidada,
quién sabe el tiempo exacto
que lleva ahí tirada,
no lleva nombre,
quizás la tiraron,
tal vez la olvidaron,
o igual la cambiaron
por algo o la vendieron,
una entre muchas otras
lámparas apagadas,
cansadas de esperar,
gritan para sus adentros
por la luz desperdiciada,
el brillo más tenue es
el mejor de los regalos,
a todas horas se oyen
los tropiezos desde bien lejos,
los horrores huelen a muerto.
A lost lantern,
covered by dust,
grimy and rusty,
who knows for how much
time is exactly there,
without a name,
maybe someone threw It,
perhaps someone forgot It,
or was changed for something,
or sold to someone else,
one of many of them,
lamps off, tired of waiting,
shouting for themselves
for the non spent light,
the faintest glow
is the best present,
every now and then
stumbles can be heard
from quite far away,
horrors smell like death.
